The first rotation I chose to do was Material Modeling, with Kris Bird and Mimi Tong.
The space to be modeled and transf
ormed during this workshop,
located on the second floor of my house.
Original model, made completely of boxboard.

The final model, with confusing staircases that centralise the area into one common room, made of both boxboard and balsa wood.
Final Thoughts: This workshop proved to be quite challenging and somewhat daunting for a first choice rotation. However, I gained an appreciation for the skill of model making, realising that it was not as easy as I originally thought it to be. Also, a critique of this course that could be addressed and most likely was addressed in later rotations, was the unclear description of what the tutor's actually wanted to be achieved. Other than that, this workshop was enjoyable, a great learning experience, and I hope to continue to perfect the skills I have learnt.
