My first attempt at composing a stop motion film.
A story board of the opening scene in my movie, as the scene constructs itself.
Another scene as the ceiling cuts away from the scene to reveal a night sky behind.
Spatial Narrative:
"Down the suspended marble walkway, you notice the columns to your right and left extending below and above it. As you look up the heavily arched ceiling dissipates and the columns extend into the night sky. Realising the empowering strength of the columns, you yearn to exit this unreality, but as you look ahead, the columns have somehow returned to their original position. Is your mind deceiving you?"
The final movie consisting of 20 seconds, 76 stills.
Final Thoughts: This workshop was the most entertaining of the three, using a medium such as film to explore and architectural space. I enjoyed the notion that constructive criticism was brought about by not only the tutors, but by students as well. Also, this workshop gave me the opportunity to continually explore the skills I had acquired in the previous workshops. However, to improve this workshop would be to include more one on one time with the tutors, so a personal sense of feedback is established. This workshop began was interesting, entertaining, and felt like a collaborative group effort, as insipration was drawn for viewing other students works and reflecting on my own.
